InfoBrokerPurge

Data brokers are selling your home address. Send them a letter the law says they must answer.

InfoBrokerPurge writes, sends and tracks formal deletion demands to 543 registered data brokers and people-search sites, in your name, under the privacy law that binds each one. Every letter, reply and deadline is kept as evidence.

  • [OK]The statute, section and deadline are named in every letter, so a broker cannot treat it as a marketing opt-out.
  • [OK]Your identity never leaves our own server. Encrypted at rest, Australian-operated, no third-party processors, no US cloud.
  • [OK]An append-only record of every message sent and received, ready for a regulator complaint if a broker ignores the law.

Who is selling you, and what they hold

Three kinds of company trade in your identity. Most people only ever see the first.

People-search sites

Type a name, pay a few dollars, get a current address, past addresses, phone numbers, age and relatives. This is where stalkers, scammers and angry strangers start.

Example listing
J. Example, 41
Launceston TAS - previously Hobart
2 phone numbers, 3 relatives, 4 past addresses

Marketing data brokers

Build a profile of your income band, health interests, purchases and movements, then sell segments to advertisers and other brokers. You never see the listing; you see the consequences.

Example segment
"Homeowner, 35-44, financial stress indicators, recent medical search activity"

Risk and credit-header resellers

Resell identity fragments from credit files and public records to tenant screeners, debt collectors and "verification" services, where errors follow you for years.

Example record
Full name, DOB, address history, employer, partial identifiers - sold per lookup

Which law protects you?

"An APP entity must take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information it no longer needs for any purpose for which it may be used or disclosed under the APPs."

What happens after you sign

One authorisation, then the platform works through every broker. Days shown are typical; the law sets the maximum.

  1. You add what brokers know about you and sign once

Legal name, previous names, addresses you have lived at, phone numbers, emails, date of birth. Each value is encrypted the moment it is saved. You sign a limited authority that covers privacy requests only, expires after a year, and can be revoked in one click.

  2. Every broker receives its letter

A formal demand citing the provision that binds them, with a PDF copy, addressed to the privacy contact the broker has sworn to on a public register.

  3. Replies are read and acted on

"Removed" closes the case. A request for ID or a human step becomes a task in your Action Center, with the exact step written out. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to.

  4. Silence is answered

A reminder goes out, then a formal notice of non-compliance that names the regulator. The complete record is already assembled for a complaint.

  5. Checked again so it stays gone

Brokers re-buy data. Confirmed removals are checked again on a schedule, and if your listing is back a new demand citing the broker's own earlier confirmation goes out without you lifting a finger.

Where your identity lives

A removal service holds the most sensitive record you own. This is the whole path your data takes.

1. Your browser

To our server, nowhere else

No analytics scripts, no tag managers, no third-party fonts. The page you are reading loads nothing from anyone else.

2. Our server

Encrypted field by field

Every identity value is encrypted individually at rest on hardware we operate in Australia. Staff see case status, not your details.

3. The letter

Only what the law needs

A broker receives the identifiers required to find and delete your record, nothing else, and cannot reply to you directly.

4. The record

Evidence you can take anywhere

An append-only ledger of every letter and reply, exportable as PDF. Close your account and the vault is wiped the same minute; the ledger stays without any personal data in it.

  • Sell, share or "partner" your data with anyone
  • Store ID documents unencrypted, or keep them longer than 14 days
  • Run analytics, advertising pixels or session recording
  • Use third-party email, CRM or support tools that would see your details
  • Host your vault outside hardware we operate
  • Require identification before sending a single request

Read the security page: encryption, retention periods, backups, and how to report a vulnerability.

Questions people ask before they start

What exactly is a data broker?

A company that collects personal information from public records, purchases and online activity, then sells or publishes it. People-search sites are the visible end: type a name, pay a few dollars, get a home address, phone numbers, age and relatives. Marketing data companies and credit-header resellers do the same thing wholesale.

Is removal actually legally binding?

Where a privacy law applies, yes. We cite the exact provision for your jurisdiction and the statutory deadline. Brokers that miss it receive a formal notice and the correspondence record is ready for a regulator complaint. Outside those laws, we use the broker's own published opt-out procedure, which they are bound to honour under consumer protection law.

Do I have to give you my ID?

No. Requests go out under your signed authorisation. If a broker insists on ID, the task appears in your Action Center and you decide. Uploads are encrypted, sent with an instruction to destroy after verification, and automatically purged from our storage after 14 days.

How long does it take?

Most brokers respond inside the legal window: 30 days under GDPR and the Privacy Act, 45 under US state laws. Many people-search sites confirm within days. Your dashboard shows exactly where each request stands and what is due next.

Does my data come back?

Brokers re-acquire data from their sources, so each confirmed removal is checked again on a schedule. If it reappears, a new demand goes out citing their earlier confirmation, and the case starts a new cycle.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, in one step from Settings. Your identity vault is wiped and documents are shredded immediately. A record that the requests were made is kept without personal data, because that record is what makes the demands enforceable.

Who operates this?

InfoBrokerPurge is built and operated by SupportCALL, an Australian ICT business trading since the 1990s, on infrastructure it runs itself. There is no venture funding, no data partnership and no plan to be acquired by a broker.
